Contraceptive injection
This animation is part of a broader educational series about contraception, focusing specifically on contraceptive injections, how they work, how effective they are, and what to expect when using them.
The goal was to make this medical topic accessible, culturally sensitive, and visually consistent with the rest of the series, while maintaining factual accuracy.
The animation introduces the concept in a simple, non-clinical tone, explaining how the injection prevents pregnancy by releasing hormones into the bloodstream.
I designed a cohesive visual style using 2D illustration and flat animation, allowing the information to be delivered clearly and effectively without overwhelming the viewer.

Challenges & Creative Decisions
Because this subject can be considered sensitive or stigmatised in some cultures, the tone and design needed to be non-judgmental, inclusive, and approachable. I chose a gentle colour palette, calm pacing, and friendly illustration style to ensure viewers would feel informed, not intimidated.
Consistency with the broader series also played a major role, the visual identity had to match other contraception explainers while still feeling distinct. Balancing clarity, comfort, and cohesion was essential to making this explainer both effective and culturally respectful.
