Building Intelligent CMS Frameworks for Discoverability, Scalability & Efficiency
Overview
I specialise in designing user-centric content management systems (CMS) that transform disorganised content into structured, SEO-optimised knowledge platforms. My work on DigiPezeshk’s library of over 3,000 health articles exemplifies how intelligent CMS architecture can drive both user engagement and search engine visibility.
Through strategic taxonomy design, streamlined editorial workflows, and SEO-first structuring, I build scalable content ecosystems that serve patients, clinicians, and algorithms equally well.
CMS Design, Structure & Management
Architecting Scalable Systems Optimised for SEO, User Experience & Future Growth
Strategic Approach
My CMS frameworks are built with a dual-focus:
User-first design for clarity, accessibility, and engagement
Technical SEO optimisation for maximum discoverability across search engines and voice assistants
At DigiPezeshk, I implemented a system that not only enhanced human usability but also made the content machine-readable, enabling richer search experiences and accelerated indexing.
Technical Execution
Intelligent Content Structuring
Multi-Tier Taxonomy: Designed a robust, multi-level categorisation system, allowing site admins to easily find specific content among 3,000+ articles.
Dynamic Breadcrumb Navigation: Integrated breadcrumb trails across the CMS to improve internal linking, user orientation, and SEO signals.
Pagination for Multi-Page Content
To enhance usability for long-form articles, I implemented pagination that breaks down extensive content into manageable sections. Users can easily navigate between pages to access key information like Symptoms, Diagnosis, and Emergency Signs without feeling overwhelmed by large chunks of text.
This approach was designed to improve readability and reduce friction, making it easier for both desktop and mobile readers to focus on one section at a time while maintaining engagement across the entire article.
SEO-Driven Hub Pages
Created thematic hub pages that aggregate related content under a unified topic (e.g., "Diabetes Centre" linking out to symptoms, treatments, lifestyle tips, etc.).
Hubs maximise SEO by strengthening topical authority and improving crawlability through strategic internal linking.
Schema Markup Integration
Embedded structured data (JSON-LD) across all major content types:
MedicalCondition schema for condition articles
QAPage schema for FAQ sections
Person schema for clinician profiles
Developed a schema-aware publishing pipeline ensuring automatic JSON-LD injection on publishing, maintaining 100% validation rates in Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool.
Navigation & Discovery Enhancements
Cross-Linking System: Established intelligent relationships between articles (e.g., linking diabetes articles to cardiovascular risk management) to encourage deeper user journeys.
Breadcrumb Trails: Automatically generated breadcrumb paths for every page, improving both user orientation and crawl depth efficiency.
SEO, Analytics & Continuous Optimisation
Google Search Console: Monitored indexing health, schema performance, and keyword rankings.
Google Analytics: Tracked user engagement metrics, content performance, and goal completions.
Microsoft Clarity: Analysed real-time user behaviour via heatmaps and session recordings to further refine UX and content placement.
Ongoing data insights are fed back into content structure and navigation improvements, ensuring the CMS remains agile and responsive to user needs and SEO trends.
