Number of Government employees in Iran

Project Brief

This infographic set aimed to visually represent the structure and estimated scale of government employment within Iran’s public sector. It sought to clarify complex bureaucratic hierarchies, making the distribution of the state workforce understandable for a general audience in a news or educational context.

1. Information Gathering

The visuals were developed based on data sourced from official government reports, national statistical bodies, and relevant academic research focused on public sector employment figures and administrative frameworks within Iran. The objective was to ground the visual representation in verified, factual information.

2. Content Planning & Structure

Given the multi-layered nature of government, the content was meticulously structured into distinct infographic sections. This involved breaking down the governmental landscape into its core components.

3. Design Execution

The infographics were designed using Adobe Illustrator, employing a clean, modern, and highly legible visual style. Consistent iconography, a well-defined layout, and a disciplined colour palette were used to ensure visual coherence across all sections.

4. Visual Strategy

Throughout the design process, drafts were subjected to review by the journalist. Feedback guided refinements in visual hierarchy and textual clarity. Adjustments were made to simplify complex terminology and optimise the overall presentation for accuracy and broad appeal, ensuring the infographic set effectively communicated its intended message.

5. Outcome

The diagrams helped researchers and journalists communicate how Iran’s state apparatus is structured and staffed. By reducing complexity into an intuitive visual hierarchy, this project contributed to better public understanding and more informed analysis of Iranian governance.
